你好,我正在逃離美國百年屈辱,你能告訴我最近的麥當勞在哪裡嗎?
Hello I am fleeing the American century of humiliation, can you show me where the closest mcdonalds is?

Finished Ghost of Yotei. Few thoughts.

Game ruled.
@erikaishii.bsky.social killed it.
This was basically Kill Bill.
As good as Tsushima but excels in some areas where Tsushima fell short.
Visual masterpiece.

My GOTY is still KCD2 but could change after second playthrough.

We are seeing in real time that the anti immigration stances by MAGA were bunk. We’ve had record high deportation and record low migration. Yet we have astronomically high unemployment and are on this brink of an economic depression.

The AC unit they’ll need to keep that building at least below 100 degrees is going to be the size of the Eisenhower Building.

There are a lot of people saying “I don’t think Graham Platner is a Nazi but I think he should drop out because there’s no way he wins.”

Bro this country voted for a brain dead, racist game show host twice. It’ll probably HELP his chances to win. You’re giving voters too much credit.

The only thing I really fault Graham Platner on is that he’s forcing me to listen to a Pod Save America episode.

My understanding of the situation is completely different. It didn't have anything to do with personal attraction and whether white women were fucking too many black ones, but a critique of beauty standards re: the porn category's existence.

It was "stereotypically black features on white(r) bodies are prized while black people continue to be castigated for them". With connections to Kim Kardash. and sis and others. Whether you personally found them attractive was tangential to the point.

I saw several blk sex workers chime in explaining that they found it weird/upsetting that white coworkers were getting paid more for having a body type that was the bare minimum of acceptable for them to get work. I can't speak for every sub-thread or mutations over time, but this seems reasonable.

It feels like a straight forward social critique. "It's fine that you like women with big asses, it's weird society has decided it's extra taboo and erotic for WHITE women to have one, and probably based in anti-blackness." That's the original argument I saw.

Are we...incapable of anti-blackness? Like, I'm not sure what's to square. "Black people can engage in anti-black behavior in a society that models it" is not galaxy brained observation. And both colorism and anti-blackness as attraction patterns are in our community.

The general desire pattern of dissing darker skinned black women. The distaste for afro-features in kinky hair or larger noses and lips. I grew up with that happening, even as it shifted to desirable on white(r) bodies through my late teens and early 20's.

This isn't a particularly insightful critique on beauty standards/patterns of desire in America. It's so old, it's taken for granted as a bedrock/default position to engage in further nuanced discussions of how it plays out intra-communally. (ie policing black hairstyles happens even among us)

Don't do this kind of therapyspeak social justice justification for why you can't get laid in my mentions. I won't have it.

Seeing the DSA as an organization turn on AOC, who is a generational political talent, could be a huge electoral success story for them and a vanguard for more and more DSA affiliated partisans in the House, convinced me they're never going to amount to anything.

Caitlin Johnstone is slowly becoming the left wing equivalent of Ian Miles Cheong. Another non American who’s never been to America trying to tell Americans how to do their politics with rageslop disguised as insightful analysis.

I'm glad Kimmel made sure to apologize and say he'd love to interview Trump, really stopped something bad like an extremely popular insanely racist right wing ai slop account making a video saying he should be murdered in revenge for millions of views.

The old project is dead and let’s keep it that way. The new one begins when we make common cause with every person who works for a living and refuse to be divided by the language of difference.

That is how we win again. That is how we govern again. And that is how we rebuild the American promise.

Let us retire the nonsensical academic vocabulary that’s polluted the national zeitgeist. Let us speak instead about wages, dignity, and freedom from economic domination. The words that matter most are paychecks, prices, and power.

The Democratic Party built the New Deal, the GI Bill, and Medicare. It lifted millions because they united people around mutual goals, not cultural factions. That is the model that must be rediscovered. Zohran understands this. Bernie understood this.

That means fighting for the universal goods that strengthen every community such as union rights, housing guarantees, childcare, fair taxation, and public healthcare. It means ending the idea that justice for some identities can substitute for prosperity for all.

The last era of liberal activism of hashtags and consultant-tested slogans routinely fails to even the odds for everyone in this country. A new era must center on something else: the shared struggle of everyone who works for a living.

You win them by showing how their fate is tied to everyone else who works for a living. The path forward isn’t resentment. We need to show that we all have a shared purpose. Our political project must change.

10.10.2025 16:01 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

We also need to face a political reality: white Americans are still the largest group in this country, and no progressive coalition can govern without their support. You don’t win people over by making them feel guilty. Same goes for young men in general.

I am not saying equality, inclusion, or justice no longer matter. I am saying we cannot build a fair society through terminology. We will not win people’s trust by policing their tone while their rent goes up and their job disappears.

Wages are stagnant. Housing is unaffordable. Healthcare is a maze. Corporations dominate every industry while real labor power has collapsed. Yet when people look to the Democrats for answers, they hear lectures about language instead of plans to raise their standard of living.

10.10.2025 16:01 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

We need to talk about the direction of the Democratic Party. For fifteen years, they’ve built their politics around activism and identity. They’ve said that if we could change language, we could change society. But those changes have not been seen in our society.
