The 2024 presidential election was close, not a landslide
Donald Trump's close win over Kamala Harris in the 2024 election hasn't stopped him from claiming a mandate.
Contrary to popular perception, US General Election 2024 was a close election.
Very good analysis here -
No Trump didn't win a landslide.Β Far from it

As a social scientist, I am very empathetic to genuine pollsters who are sometimes humbled by vagaries of human behavior.
This is a good story by CNN.
Thanks to Ann Selzer for providing us with high quality polls over the decades!
Polls work and Selzer has been proof of that!

π§΅Do not accept the narrative that Trump won b/c racism & sexism:
1. Doesnβt line up with the evidence
2. Assumes the worst about Trump voters & will further alienate them
3. Plays into "the left is too woke" meme
4. May embolden white supremacy
