And if the mere brochure for a course that incorporates inclusive and student-centered design makes a difference, you can imagine how much more powerful is the impact of the ultimate intervention--that of having a compassionate, inclusive, and innovative educator.

These signals are perceptible to students and shape their perceptions and behaviours.

One of the takeaway messages for educators should be that the course syllabus presents an important opportunity to convey one's pedagogical approach, including values such as care and trust, and how these are reflected in course design choices.

This experimental study showed how the use of open educational practices and increased social justice framing lead to greater intent to register for the course, more positive perceptions of school support and acceptance, better relations with faculty and staff, and higher instructor evaluations.

These findings hold significant implications for policy and practice and as post-secondary institutions strive to widen equitable access and better support both pedagogical innovation and student success, the adoption and expansion of ZTC initiatives should be considered a strategic priority.

This finding demonstrates that the substantial student cost savings that result from the programmatic adoption of open educational resources (OER) via institutional ZTC initiatives do not come at the cost of educational outcomes.

Multilevel modelling that controlled for both between-course and within-courses sources of variance showed that ZTC course sections exhibited comparable mean fill and withdrawal rates and slightly higher mean GPAs than non-ZTC course sections.

In this study we analyze institutional-level data encompassing 13,605 course sections across the four academic years between September 2018 and August 2022.

Leading the development and growth of KPU's ZTC programs was one of my proudest accomplishments at KPU, as the initiative has grown to encompass eight credentials and nearly 800 individual courses from which over 24,000 students have benefited from nearly CA$13 million in cost savings.

It also represents the kind of leadership I believe that the post-secondary sector needs, which is also why we have elected to openly license the document.

This framework, which will inform the procurement, development, and deployment of educational technologies, provides our university community with important guidance during a time of rapid technological change.

As I explained at Senate, too often we in higher education treat legislation (e.g., privacy, accessibility) as the ceiling when it comes to ethical considerations with technology, when we should instead view legislation as the floor (the bare minimum).

This was among the commitments in our academic plan and something that I have been working on for several months now with my colleagues in the Centre for Pedagogical Innovation, consulting widely across the university.
