Laird Cregar is also quite good in a creepy film called Hangover Square.

He died at age 31, related to a heart attack after a weight-loss battle that included surgery.

… is good but naive as a stage star who draws his attention.

The film relies effectively on underlying tension; if it’s bloody gore you want, even by 1944 standards, stay away.

It’s a fine adaptation of a book that inspired Hitchcock’s silent THE LODGER: A STORY OF THE LONDON FOG in 1927.

I was that way with Tom Jones (the movie, not the singer). I didn’t care much for it as I watched it, but I grew to hate it within days. 🤣

The more time that passes since I watched it, the less I like it.

I saw La Jetée a long time ago. I remember liking it and thinking it was quite unique, but I would need to see it again to really speak to it.

I do find the shared premise fascinating.

Yeah, great premise, mediocre execution.

I thought the plot was rather muddled, but it could’ve just been my lack of interest. I found the reason for the plague’s origin unsatisfying.

I’ve heard the film is better with repeat viewings.
Not likely for me.

I always thought I Zimbra’s amazing grooves hinted at what was to come on Side 1 of Remain in Light.

Recently rewatched this. Love the foggy atmosphere.

I think it’s felt and leather.

I despise You Light Up My Life by Debby Boone. Not terribly long ago I had to listen to it in its entirety while on hold for customer service. Nothing short of mental torture.

Almost included the influential Seven Samurai (1954).
While not a typical western, I think it’s far superior to remake The Magnificent Seven.
