Funny I'm thinking about that...wonder why?

Because you get more out of things if you venture out of a comfort zone and don't assume something not laser focused on you is bad. Which is a serious issue too many have.

Because the action and the stories being told still worked. Did we miss some stuff? Sure. Just like I'm sure the old abuela I saw who seemed to barely speak English probably missed some English bits. But we didn't turn into an asshole over it.

Because we didn't get hung up on the idea that much of the show was in Spanish. (Not all of it. English speaking wrestlers and announcers were also there). We just had a great time. So did the folks whose Spanish was stronger during the English parts.

So this might be helpful for someone. Last night Lauren and I went to a wrestling event with a predominantly Latino crowd. Our Spanish is, at best, remedial (we're learning but it's a long process). Thus we didn't always know exactly what the crowd was shouting.

It was still so much fun.

I feel like that is so much at the heart of a bunch of MAGA issues.

That the best commercial was the Shatner one with all the poop jokes says something and it's not great.

Its like specificity doesn't mean crap... it just looks as trends and guesses and says "close enough."

And maybe it's not AI but it coincides with implementing it.

I didn't mind the Dunkin Ad. I didn't love it, but at least it had a story and was a parody and not just karyoke rug pull and such.

The Redfin commercial is probably a lesson in how things can be two things at once. It can be a good message to be kind to your neighbors while framing that brown folks as needing to do it is not great.

Unless the real message is regressive white folks are shit neighbors unless you dazzle them.

I find it funny that after going to a sold out MLW show with a largely Latino and generally POC audience in Chicago? I find out a lot of snarky white fans insist "nobody watches it" and I've even seen some claim the shows don't really sell out.

And yet I was there and it was full. Weird.

It was a really fun show. We had a blast.

MLW Lucha Apocalypto tonight. Met Kross and Scarlett. Both very nice (and evil I guess, though not THE nice and evil guy). Getting ready to start soon. Really nice venue with a fun crowd.

Its likely. Fortunately I knew it was Whitman and mostly AI slop so I was preloaded to think "Oh this is going to be a disaster." But I also know someone is going to try to use this for something.

You know, that's legit quite profound. No really, I'm serious. I really like that.

I'll just note I've been brought in to clean up or replace work of several folks on that list. Like a solid 10 to 15 of them. And no, I won't be saying who. So I'll gladly go back to "nobody" space with the brown folks and ladies.
