i just got rly depressed from News so now im very high

but, i have been the new kid before, my sophomore year when i swapped schools, so i actually do have a better idea of what it's like to walk into a new environment. since my mc is swapping schools his senior year he won't have much time to make connections like i did, but i'll be able to capture it

originally my main character was supposed to have taken his junior year at independent study, then gone back to his old school, but i've been having trouble establishing the dynamic of seeing familiar classmates without having that experience

actually it's made me think i should set it at a completely new school instead of an old one

used to hate having dreams about being back in school but since the novel/book/story i'm writing is set in high school i'm actually grateful for once
