Another Hollywood legend gone. I’m having a hard time picking a favorite Robert Redford film. He made so many damn good ones! And he left an incredible legacy in film through his work at Sundance. RIP.

That needle drop at the beginning of WEAPONS. So fucking good. You literally know the kind of hands you're in when a film starts by the first needle drop.

Why does it look like an old video game?

Between this @criterion.bsky.social announcement & the 4/20 event at The Paris - I’m here for this 25th Anniversary celebration of Kenneth Lonergan’s “You Can Count On Me”.

Hopefully, one day, Criterion will see fit to release Lonergan’s definitive cut of “Margaret”! @jsmithcameron.bsky.social

A great evening at @movingimagenyc.bsky.social for the East Coast premiere of David Chase’s masterpiece NOT FADE AWAY in Black & White. As wonderful as I thought the film was in color, it takes on a new life; one I hope makes it way to @criterion.bsky.social @criterionchannel.bsky.social soon!

Totally agreed. I saw it in its initial release because I was a big Dan Aykroyd fan and it was just the perfect gateway. I did a book report on “My Autobiography” soon after. I’ve seen it a number of times of the years and then I always manage to wind up on a Chaplin kick.

I had a very similar experience with “Chaplin”.

Luis Buñuel’s “ÉL” (a fave of @realgdt.bsky.social ) has left me stunned days later after my screening.

Run to Film Forum to see this 4K Restoration by Janus Films ( @criterion.bsky.social ) The Film Foundation & The Material World Foundation.

I need a “Buñuel in Mexico” box set from Criterion!
