We've gone through 40 years of consecutive Conservative and Liberal sell offs of our crown corporations...including Mulroney's offloading of AirCanada

In a time of trade strife, it might be beneficial to look at investing into wholly owned public services and infrastructure.

One would think that this toll correction might be a lesson for the government. Yet, one of the main campaign promises of Carney was a private-focussed home building crown corporation. Sounds like a hopeful idea...but again, where does the responsibility of those homes lie in the next 30 years?

Again, this isn't solely a bridge question. This dates back to Mulroney and Chretien selling crown corporations off, in favour of P3s. In the last 40 years we've shelved public responsibility in exchange for quick builds, where the public is locked into expensive contracts with private entities.

I'll start this post off by saying that I am happy about the bridge toll reduction. There's always a "but" though.

This isn't solely aimed at the bridge...but as MP MacDonald side-stepped the tax question on Compass, we have to ask how is the next 7 years of Straight Crossing's contract being paid?
