The authentic german pronunciation is โ€žepp-shtineโ€œ or โ€žepp-schtynโ€œ depending on how you write the phonetics. Epp-steen is an english speaker pronunciation.

1. German.
I routinely text/email in German and English, and sometimes Scottish Gaelic. The one keyboard covers all those. I add Romanian when I need it.

German โ€žsiechโ€œ is not obsolete. Its rare to hear it in Germany, but still in use. Swiss German also still uses it, even a bit more than Germany.

So today is #PiDay, right? And English speakers are all eating pie to celebrate because "pi" is pronounced "pie," right?

I have bad news for you ....

The Greek letter #ฯ€ is pronounced "pi," as in "pee." So, um ... Happy Pee Day! ๐Ÿ™ƒ
