Had my 4-yr old grandson over for a sleepover. Put him to bed and turned on the tv to watch adult program. He came out a few minutes later, "Why are you up?" I told him that I am a grownup and get to stay up later. He seemed confused. Apparently, his parents go to bed immediately, exhausted.

Yesterday was bright and crisp here along Mitchell Creek in Mt. Diablo State Park in Northern California. The creek babbled sweetly as a bird sang with all its heart.
