i’m not usually one to moan, but some of the oscar noms this year are downright baffling, especially for best picture. some big snubs and a couple of head-scratching contenders

David Lynch, Auteur Drawn to the Dark and the Dreamlike, Dies at 78 With such hallucinogenic masterworks as 'Eraserhead,' 'Blue Velvet,' 'Mulholland Drive,' 'Twin Peaks' and 'The Elephant Man,' he often left more questions than answers.

"Lynchian" is a fully realized and instantly comprehensible adjective, as concrete a one-word summation of an artist's aesthetic and worldview as has ever been associated with any artist in any medium. Things will forever be Lynchian, but there was only one David Lynch. #RIP
