We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers.

The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.

New paper on the arXiv based on our cosmological simulation work!

We use the flamingo runs to construct a simple analytic expression for the baryon correction to the matter power spectrum. Having a quick, but accurate enough, estimate is key for the analysis of data

A two panel figure. The x-axis is omega_m, the fraction of matter in the Universe. The y-axis is S8 on the left and sigma_8 on the right. Both are measures of the 'clumpiness' of dark matter. The contours show that the KiDS data (two measurements using slightly different statistics, COSEBIs and Bandpowers) agree with the data from the Planck CMB survey.

πŸ₯³ It's paper day for the completed #ESO Kilo-Degree Survey. We end our journey with a consistent picture of #cosmology 😲
I've been co-leading KiDS for 12yrs & I'm so proud of what the team's achieved. If you're at the #Euclid meet, go to Angus Wright's talk @10am today!πŸ”

PSA: when a collaboration whose name starts with DE says they have found evidence for non-standard dark energy, the community should take that interpretation with more skepticism.

DESI does not show that w0wa explains there data. Eg neutrino mass remains negative even with w0wa
