Honestly, I think generative AI is the most embarrassing thing to happen to human cognition in the history of human evolution. People jumping at the opportunity to hand over their thinking processes to a machine is like admitting you don't like having and using a brain.

Furthermore, they've no desire to develop reading comprehension. Why let the words in the text even enter your brain when you can have the machine do all the thinking for you.

What really irritates me is when my I give my 16-18 y.o. students a very short passage (like 5-8 sentences) with a question about the text and they immediately go to Google to give them an AI generated answer. Like, TF you doing? The answer is right there. They have no reading comprehension.

This is what I was going to say.

It's like the ontological argument. They start by defining racism as something only others are capable of. If Kirk was saying things they believed them it can't be racism.

I can't help but notice that this update from NBC implies that the most despicable part of this shooting is the "anti-ICE messaging" while simultaneously calling the victims of the shooting the "'WORST of the WORST' criminals."

This seems to me like a dereliction of journalistic duty.

Live your life in such a way that if you're ever killed, people won't wonder whether it was done by the people you persecuted or the people who thought you didn't persecute enough.

Really wanting to see a reporter ask him "People are saying you're dead and celebrating, how does that make you feel?"

Literally was just arguing with another teacher today about the plane thing and his response to the idea that it is a conflict of interest was literally "what does he need another plane for?" as a reason why it wasn't corrupt.

Literally the next day, I was talking to some students and they were complaining about another teacher being trash at teaching and one of their comments was they give AI feedback.

Got in a discussion with my content team about using AI to grade and give feedback on student writing, and I just think if I'm telling them they can't use AI to research and write their paper why the hell would I use it to grade said research.

Man, I'm glad the only bugs that regularly show up in my house are stink bugs because they're super yeetable and I do in fact yeet them every time.
