It's understandable how that relationship endured, given how young he was and the fact that he had children with her at such a young age. Although I'm not sure how closely Haynes tried to stay to the source material or how much artistic license was used, but he does offer food for thought.

The movie is good at revisiting just how fucked up that case was and getting you to contemplate it's effects. Some great performances as well.
04.12.2023 03:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There was a sense of predation from many angles, not just in the Moore character but also in the acting process/methods that Portman applied.
04.12.2023 00:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I really enjoyed that. Immersive, atmospheric and unpredictable. A road movie that is genuinely transportive, and doesn't answer too many of its own questions

It was a movie with characters you don't particularly like, but that's never bothered me in a movie. Also saw some negative reaction to the score, but felt it was effective. The entire movie does have a nostalgic feel, with the music and the film quality.
03.12.2023 23:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thought it was very good. The subject matter is inherently cringeworthy, and it does make you contemplate the source material. Anyone old enough remembers that insane event in history. Was thinking about Portman casting as well... remember having a boss who was openly and sickeningly an admirer.
