Queer bog creature. (They/Them) I usually write some combo of spooky, speculative, or sexy. I'm published in 10+ places under a different pen name. Currently editing my trans/gay Frankenstein retelling "Ought to Be Thy Adam".

It's a queer Frankenstein retelling and Viktor's first love (Henry) is the catalyst of everything that follows π«₯. The way it pans out is, uhm... a plot point for sure.
Oh no, it's the entire conflict of Viktor's part of the novel π«£.

π Who is Viktor "losing" I wonder?
(And will this sickly twink ever stop fainting?)
I remember finishing my first novel where the MC had intense ADHD. I thought "I should get this read by a sensitivity reader"
Turns out the sensitivity reader was me. I'm medicated now but I remember being surprised by how much I β¨poured my experiencesβ¨ into the MC. Should have clocked that one. π«£
This is commissioned from my queer retelling so... definitely conflicted blushing. π (When I looked at my full manuscript I couldn't deny their shared choking kink lol)
@ukstls.bsky.social took the request of Viktor being held down in "a little rough, a little erotic" way and made β¨magicβ¨ with it.
Unfortunately until my Frankenstein retelling is edited & picked up by an agent you all have to suffer through my unedited snippets. π

Two fishing boats sail on a grey ocean, with seagulls in the overcast sky. White text overlaps the grey sky. It reads: A guide to 'From the Sea Fret' a 74k adult queer horror
Grey ocean, with a white-capped wave, serves as the background. The title reads: Excerpt Text is outlined: I scanned the horizon. It was just me on the water. There wasnβt anyone out sailing, or anyone swimming. I was completely alone. Butβ¦ was I? Beneath me were leagues of ocean. Unlike in the forest, where you can hear the wildlife around you, there were creatures that could pass by in the sea and I would never know. The water concealed their movement, cloaking them from my view. It was getting harder to breathe. The vastness of the ocean was too open, and my skin felt too tight around my chest. I knew, deep in my bones, that something was beneath me and it was watching. On the port side, the water rippled. Though it was only a few steps, the length of the deck felt miles long. I was compelled to look below, and my body moved on its own accord. Though I was terrified of what I would see, I peered over.
Grey ocean, with a white-capped wave, serves as the background. The title reads: Pitch and Comps Text is outlined: Callum Point moves to the dead-end town of Perne to scrape together a new life. He's hoping that the small fishing town will give him what he always wanted; peace. Unfortunately, what greets him is a place rife with secrecy, conspiracy and creatures beyond comprehension. 5 posters for books and shows have arrows and notes coming out of them. Dredge by Black Salt Games has the notes: Capitalism despite the horrors. Something's wrong with the fish. Old Wounds by Logan-Ashley Kisner has the notes: Queer and trans identity. People are monsters too. The Fisherman by John Langan has the notes: Lovecraftian. Ocean madness. The Lighthouse by Robert Eggers has the notes: Ocean madness. Obsession with answers. Blood in the Bayou by Just Roll With It has the notes: Who can you trust? Small town cosmic terror.
Grey ocean, with a white-capped wave, serves as the background. The title reads: Themes A moodboard of 9 images sits in the middle. A hand reaching out into dark water. Thick seaweed-covered chains being pulled from the ocean. A foggy wharf at night. A group of sharks in dark water. A pencil drawing of a compass on white paper. Close-up of a hazel eye with the pupil completely white. A pile of fish. A porthole looking out onto a grey ocean. The inside of a fishing shack. Text surrounds the images. It reads: Paranoia turns revenge. Struggles with identity. Trans and queer rep. Grief over what could have been. Desperation to fit in. Cosmic/psychological/body horror. Content warnings: emotional abuse, attempted sexual assault, manipulation, transphobia, internalised transphobia, misogyny, cosmic horror, psychological horror, religious trauma, drug/alcohol use, gore, death, blood, paranoia, body horror
βFROM THE SEA FRETβ - A cosmic horror from a queer perspective
Callum Point moves to Perne in search of peace. What he finds instead are religious zealots, monstrous fish, and a constant fog that whispers to him.

A moodboard featuring nine photos in a 3x3 grid shape. From left to right, top to bottom: 1. A blue book with what appears to be the moon with lots of little starts on the cover. The title reads, βThe Observerβs Book of Astronomy.β 2. A shot from above of folded up legs sitting down, with two feet wearing converse shoes nearby. Books lay between the two feet, and thereβs a bookshelf covered in books nearby. 3. An opened book with a note in it that has a scribbled on heart. 4. Two boys, one putting his arm around the other, stare off into the starry night sky. 5. Two hands reaching for each other in between a bookshelf. 6. Blue background with lots of little white specks and text that reads, βYOU + ME FOREVER.β 7. A vast room of bookshelves covered in books. A person crouches over to pick out a book. 8. Two hands pointing at a little white dot in the blue sky. (Pictures from Pinterest)
Short Pitch: One fateful night at the library Oliver finds a small, worn blue book about the stars and soulmates β with a little note sticking out of it, wishing the reader a good day. Hesitantly, he decides to leave a second note. What follows is a chain of notes between two boys talking about everything from the stars, the vastness of the universe, and fate. Over the course of several months, Oliver finds himself wondering if soulmates are real and if his happens to be hiding in the notes between pages.

An image of a skull with a black box overtop that says: Ought to Be Thy Adam βIβd studied and lectured on your ligaments, muscles, and arteries. Cells swabbed from your cheek pushed under a microscope. Papers built off your anatomy. But I had never asked you how it felt. For all I studied your body, I was still terrified to study your soul.β In 1897, after studying corpses and toying with electricity, medical student Viktor has created the man from his darkest, shameful desires. Except guilt forces him to make one final adjustment: female parts. As his new creation gains sentience while vivisected during Viktor's university tour and begins to chafe under Viktor's thumb, a violent death and disobedience leads the monster to make himself into the man he was always meant to be. Trans/Gay Frankenstein Retelling
"Ought To Be Thy Adam" is a queer Frankenstein retelling fuelled by internalized gay guilt and trans rage.
