Queer bog creature. (They/Them) I usually write some combo of spooky, speculative, or sexy. I'm published in 10+ places under a different pen name. Currently editing my trans/gay Frankenstein retelling "Ought to Be Thy Adam".

Not rude at all! I was just overwhelmed πŸ˜…. I have a novel manuscript with established characters. I'm more selective on style though so I usually get recommendations and then do the digging myself before reaching out. :)

Oh wow, thanks for the response!

It's a queer Frankenstein retelling and Viktor's first love (Henry) is the catalyst of everything that follows πŸ«₯. The way it pans out is, uhm... a plot point for sure.

I remember finishing my first novel where the MC had intense ADHD. I thought "I should get this read by a sensitivity reader"

Turns out the sensitivity reader was me. I'm medicated now but I remember being surprised by how much I ✨poured my experiences✨ into the MC. Should have clocked that one. 🫣

This is commissioned from my queer retelling so... definitely conflicted blushing. 😏 (When I looked at my full manuscript I couldn't deny their shared choking kink lol)

@ukstls.bsky.social took the request of Viktor being held down in "a little rough, a little erotic" way and made ✨magic✨ with it.

Grey ocean, with a white-capped wave, serves as the background. The title reads: Excerpt
Text is outlined: I scanned the horizon. It was just me on the water. There wasn’t anyone out sailing, or anyone swimming. I was completely alone.
But… was I? Beneath me were leagues of ocean. Unlike in the forest, where you can hear the wildlife around you, there were creatures that could pass by in the sea and I would never know. The water concealed their movement, cloaking them from my view.
It was getting harder to breathe. The vastness of the ocean was too open, and my skin felt too tight around my chest. I knew, deep in my bones, that something was beneath me and it was watching.
On the port side, the water rippled. Though it was only a few steps, the length of the deck felt miles long. I was compelled to look below, and my body moved on its own accord. Though I was terrified of what I would see, I peered over.

1. A blue book with what appears to be the moon with lots of little starts on the cover. The title reads, β€œThe Observer’s Book of Astronomy.”
2. A shot from above of folded up legs sitting down, with two feet wearing converse shoes nearby. Books lay between the two feet, and there’s a bookshelf covered in books nearby.
3. An opened book with a note in it that has a scribbled on heart.
4. Two boys, one putting his arm around the other, stare off into the starry night sky.
5. Two hands reaching for each other in between a bookshelf.
6. Blue background with lots of little white specks and text that reads, β€œYOU + ME FOREVER.”
7. A vast room of bookshelves covered in books. A person crouches over to pick out a book.
8. Two hands pointing at a little white dot in the blue sky.

Over the course of several months, Oliver finds himself wondering if soulmates are real and if his happens to be hiding in the notes between pages.

Run. What a powerful instinct.
Emma Bridge had wanted nothing more than to be with her two siblings in a home that felt safe, but those wishes never came true. With nothing left to lose, Emma runs away from the spotlight of the Hills to a small town across the country, but this new home is anything but the safety she’d been after.

The weight of the world has fallen on her shoulders, and she can’t carry it alone. But with her old name in every police station and her new name on every tongue in town, she’s not sure who she can trust to help carry the burden.

There’s a collage of pictures. Picture one is of two people, one sitting on the counter with the other in front of them. Picture two is go a small-town street with snowy homes to either side. Picture three shows a row of high school desks. Picture four shows a box of police evidence. Picture five shows a group of kids sitting behind an abandoned building. Picture six shows someone flipping off a police car. Picture seven shows a paper with the words β€œChild Custody Hearing” printed on it. The last picture shows a boy sitting at a school desk, writing something into a notebook.

In the bottom right, it says Going on submission in 2026

An image of a skull with a black box overtop that says:
Ought to Be Thy Adam

β€œI’d studied and lectured on your ligaments, muscles, and arteries. Cells swabbed from your cheek pushed under a microscope. Papers built off your anatomy.

But I had never asked you how it felt.

For all I studied your body, I was still terrified to study your soul.”

In 1897, after studying corpses and toying with electricity, medical student Viktor has created the man from his darkest, shameful desires. Except guilt forces him to make one final adjustment: female parts. As his new creation gains sentience while vivisected during Viktor's university tour and begins to chafe under Viktor's thumb, a violent death and disobedience leads the monster to make himself into the man he was always meant to be.
