I don’t know what the answers are for steep valleys with narrow valley floors and overflowing streams and rivers unless it’s water capture schemes on the hills.
Right now, it’s heartbreaking for so many.

Thoughts with all the folk whose homes and businesses have been wrecked last night and today by flooding, many of whom haven’t got insurance because of the floods four years ago.

Scares me constantly, some of the most dangerous tips are around us in RCT and every year, rainfall gets worse.

And yet we get pennies to fix our tips!

Important piece! The pathologising of ordinary, if deeply painful, human experience is unhelpful: understanding and accepting that our lives are, at times, extremely challenging and sometimes almost unbearable is important. That doesn’t mean that we are ill. Desperate sorrow is a healthy response.
