'Our History Is the Future: Standing Rock Versus the Dakota Access Pipeline, and the Long Tradition of Indigenous Resistance' by Nick Estes
Great book on the #NoDAPL and the struggle for indigenous liberation
Mass Firearms School is definitely recommended if the wait time for the comrade center is too long for you. It's generally an apolitical environment as they make a-lot of money off the volume of classes they do.
It's also a great place to try before you buy for handguns.

'The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness' by Michelle Alexander
βAll people make mistakes. All of us are sinners. All of us are criminals. All of us violate the law at some point in our lives.β

Firearms Application: www.mass.gov/doc/massachu...
List of prohibited individuals: www.atf.gov/firearms/ide...
If you have any questions or need additional guidance throughout the application process, we're here to help. We have numerous experienced licensed owners and instructors that we can pull information from.
We Keep Us Safe.
Now the difficult part, interacting with the cops.
You will need to go for an in-person 'interview' at your local police department to go over your paperwork, identity and to take your photo and fingerprints.
If approved, you will receive your license in 8-20 weeks in the mail.
A valid MA state ID
Must be a current resident of MA to receive a resident LTC valid for 5 years
Can be either a drivers license or state-issued ID card, with photo and MA address.
Non-resident licenses are only valid for 1 year.
Basic Firearms Safety Course Certification
This course is anywhere between 3-8 hours. It covers basic safety, laws, maintenance, and handling of firearms in MA.
If you're a vulnerable/minority individual, we recommend that you seek out a class from our partner at the Comrade Center.
The application fee
For an FID, applicants under 18 pay $100 and this over 18 pay $25.
For an LTC, all applicants which is limited to those over 21, pay $100
Complete a firearms license application.
This form can be either found from the state government website or your local police department.
Specifics are not needed on your application, but you should be truthful in anything the cops may come across in your background check.
So how do you get a license? This process is the same for both a FID and LTC.
1) Complete a firearms license application
2) Application fee ($100)
3) Massachusetts Basic Firearms Safety Course Certification (Original, not a copy)
4) Valid MA State ID
You have two options...
FID: Firearm Identification Card allows the holder to possess non-large capacity shotguns and rifles (no AR-15s or semi-autos capable of holding 10+ rounds).
LTC: License To Carry allows the holder to possess all of the above including handguns, and large capacity rifles.
One of the biggest things about being a resident in Massachusetts is following our archaic laws to protect yourself and others around you, especially if you're a minority.
In MA, it is REQUIRED for you to hold a valid firearms license to possess or carry any firearms in MA including ammo.
Interested in getting your license to carry (LTC) in Massachusetts?
Here is a thread to help you along that journey.

'A People's History of the United States' by Howard Zinn
"The book provides great insight into the making of the United States, after the landing of Saint Columbus, and covering a very long period-till the presidency of Bill Clinton."
When you see La Migra, remember precise time and location at the very least!
We cannot tell everyone across a metro area to take cover bc of vague information

Torn Apart: How the Child Welfare System Destroys Black Families--and How Abolition Can Build a Safer World by Dorothy Roberts
This book heavily focuses on the harm of child protective services on children, primarily children of color and why we need to abolish it.

"White Fear: How the Browning of America Is Making White Folks Lose Their Minds" by Roland Martin
This book focuses on the rise of Donald Trump since Obama and the Tea Party Movement.
The subjects we will focus on will be:
β’ Anti-Racism
β’ Abolishing the police and prisons
β’ Anti-Zionism
β’ Labor unions
Starting today, we will begin our year long "Teaching Tuesday" drive to share educational resources that our members want others to take in.
We will be sharing books, podcasts, and YouTube videos that revolve around subjects that matter to us.
β’ Expanding range access. We will continue to coordinate with our individual members to gain more access to ranges in the state so we can sharpen our skills on and off the range.
We must prioritize community over individualism. We must be organized in the face of fascism if we're to prevail. β
β’ Expanding our education programs. Our chapter has nearly a dozen events scheduled over the next month for our members focusing on topics from carrying concealed to becoming abolitionist.
β’ Teaching Stop The Bleed (but better) courses to those who need medical knowledge.
Going into 2025, we as a chapter have decided that we will be expanding our operations as the threat of fascism rises.
Here are the goals of our chapter:
β’ Arming the working class in Massachusetts, literally. We will be assisting those in need apply for their LTC/FID.

The nation article by Nicholas Slayton 2/20/2024 The Supreme Court Is on the Verge of Criminalizing Homelessness As the high court deliberates, policymakers are preparing for the possibility that they might solve a problem they created in the most punitive way.
Fun reminder time!
The reason a lot of major corporations in America have profits is due to prison slave labor.
