25.07.2025 15:22 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Perfectly put, we are not a jar of organs. We are a prime example of the saying "the whole is more than the sum of its parts". In out lab we have now data indicating not only a gut-heart axis but also a gut-brain-heart axis. We hope to publish this findings by the end of the year
16.07.2025 14:09 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Ever wondered about the heart-gut connection in inflammatory bowel disease? Our brand new paper reveals insights into atrial electrophysiology changes during active ulcerative colitis that may explain the higher risk of arrhythmias in IBD patients.

07.06.2025 14:24 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Calcium imaging in cardiomyocytes is a method used to measure intracellular calcium levels and assess calcium dynamics. It is a powerful tool for investigating the effects of diseases and drugs on cardiac electrophysiology and contraction, providing insights into the mechanisms of arrhythmias.

26.05.2025 15:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Studies have shown that both IBDs increases the propensity for arrhythmia, hypertension, etc. Specially during the flare ups. But, in patients, it's difficult to know the exact cause (confounders). It's good you have been monitoring it with a doctor. Only them can provide diagnose and treatment.
26.05.2025 14:26 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I'm thrilled to announce the publication of my newest paper in JMCC, which investigates the mechanism of ulcerative colitis induced ventricular arrhythmias ๐งช

02.05.2025 00:59 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Curitiba, Brazil, offers another compelling example of the benefits of going car free. In the 1970s, Mayor Jaime Lerner defied local business owners by pedestrianizing XV de Novembro street. Contrary to their fears that it would harm their businesses, the opposite occurred. Business thrived!
25.04.2025 12:17 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Honestly, it puzzles me why that stretch of Lincoln Ave isn't permanently closed to cars. It is a small gem of an area that would greatly benefit from being car free.
24.04.2025 15:03 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Very nice graph. If the data represents the US, a comparison with Brazil, which experiences summer and Carnaval in February, could be quite insightful. I'll try to find data from Brazil ๐ง๐ท
