Contrast the fast-talking “professional chefs” these days on YouTube who have turned kitchen work into some sort of macho contest, and the food that no longer resembles anything I might cook (or want to eat) at home. What happened?!?

It’s such a pleasure to watch old Jacques Pepin videos on YouTube. The fully stocked kitchen, with bonus vase and flowers. The endless bottles of wine gleefully consumed. The food loaded with butter and cheese. Reminds me of the time when cooking was considered pure sensual enjoyment.

I should add that I recently bought a Mont Saint Michel chore coat, instantly fell in love with it, and now wear it whenever possible, even when climatically unnecessary (which is most of the time here in India).

My recent deep dive into menswear has been interesting, not least due to the current obsession for "heritage" clothing. I've always been attractive to garments with a history, so it's nice to see more of these items. However, I do feel we should remain on the right side of cosplay.

I've been watching clothing/fashion videos on YouTube lately and it's astonishing how Eurocentric style has become in the popular culture. "No busy/loud patterns," "no sandals, only white sneakers" and so on. Geez people, there's a world of style outside the sidewalks of NYC.
