Nothing is determined. There is room to push back.

But let’s not pretend this isn’t exactly what it looks like: The regime is declaring all forms of dissent illegitimate and is preparing a massive crackdown on all forms of political and societal opposition.

They want to escalate. This is it.

The recent trajectory, in broad strokes:

- Regime starts militarizing the conflict in early summer
- Regime declares all liberal/leftwing political activity as domestic terrorist or terrorism-adjacent in presidential memo
- Regime ramps up the propaganda against “the Left” across all channels

I’d love higher ed policy to be made by people who actually worked in higher ed, but apparently that’s too much to ask

How is this repeatedly made into a policy issue - by *all* parties - when the blunt fact of the matter is that grown adults who are obliged to pay for their own education, and relentlessly pursued to repay their loans, should be able to study whatever the fuck they want.

PAY ATTENTION: ICE is filing fake 911 calls in Chicago, weaponizing emergency services to provoke local police.

Ordinary citizens would be charged with a felony. ICE calls it strategy.
