My #nextread was between Anathema by Keri Lake and Feathers So Vicious by Liv Zander. I picked Feathers so Vicious because I heard it was the darker of the two.

So far a woman got her skin whipped off, so the extreme horror fan in me is tickled bloody pink.

I deeply enjoy finding lines in novels where I can really feel how pleased the author was with themselves after they wrote it. I finished #swordheart this week, and while there were many such lines in the book, this was my favorite.

I had heard Stranger Things was first pitched as an anthology. Rewatching the first season before the final one, I wish they would have followed that vision.

Season 1 was such an amazing emotional finale, and that magic is hard to re-capture when the story just... continues on.

My #currentread is Swordheart by T Kingfisher, and goodness, it's just 80 percent walking down a road to get a lawyer and walking (riding) back again.

It's fun to see simple journeys go so wonky when I'm accustomed to more epic fantasy.

I've found the most joy doing a bit of both.

It's fun to see where your characters take the story, but I've found it's always great to know where you want things to end up.
