I see it. I have lived it. 83 years ago, the U.S. government turned upon a group of its own citizens and residents and sent them to internment camps without due process. I was there among them. American fascism is back. It is here. It is now.

It's one thing when non-profits or federally funded institutions decide to "rebrand" to ensure funding while keeping the same programs. It's absolute racism when major monopolies can't even continue their DEI programs and end their HBCU partnerships. They had nothing to lose but chose racism instead

When I was younger, I don't think I fully comprehended this and what it truly meant. Now, as an adult in my late 30s, having lived in multiple cities, states, countries and through multiple government chaos..community-building is so obviously the path forward.

The slave labor continues to disgust me. When I recently learned of the inmates being used to extinguish wildfires without complete protective gear or training, as would be provided to anyone else, I was in shock and rage. It's very clear that our prison system thrives on abuse.

LOVE these suggestions. I will be writing and sharing how libraries always provided me a safe space where I could learn, escape, and plan for my future in my darkest of times.
