Briefly back on Bkuesky to ask for insight into travelling to the east coast of #Canada. Heading to #Montréal in October for a fortnight with no firm plans thereafter. What should I do? What should I avoid?

Weirdly more optimistic since Paulo Pezzolano was appointed than I was a week ago. Getting the head coach in is half the battle: now we need to see requisite backing in the transfer market.

Can’t get over how much Ivan Jurić looks like a budget Robert De Niro.

Crystal Palace really reaping the rewards of sticking with Oliver Glasner after a slow start to the season. So many exciting attackers, getting numbers from Jean-Philippe Mateta few would have expected and recruitment regularly seems to hit.

The distribution from the back - be it him or Selvik - has improved so much of late. Real penetration rather than aimless backwards and sideways. Incredible upgrade in that department.

Imrân Louza captained #WatfordFC to victory over Luton on Sunday. A sentence that would have seemed ludicrous last summer 🤯

😆 The fortunate thing for Tom - and his predecessors - is we're now such a laughing stock that his Watford stint won't be held against him in future.

I think they'll only put down a fee at this stage for the next Pedro/Asprilla/Koné/Vata; someone they know they can flip for a handsome profit within 12-18 months, pocketing the difference and reducing the Pozzo debt. I'd be stunned (fuming) if they are holding back £ for the next HC.

I might collate everything he said in the run-up to and throughout the window. It started with (paraphrasing), 'We need oven-ready Championship players and I expect a couple before Cardiff', moved to putting the onus on Nani etc (smart) and finished with 'It is what it is'. A defeated man.
