its kinda been like that for console for ages. (from 3ds onwards) people who haven't been in the modding scene for decades found out what risks are it seems.

I did do a whole read through on live stream actually. Banned and bricked are pretty different things. You won't have access to online with a banned account. The device won't be "bricked"

Think of it as anti cheat. Using mods that give you a competitive advantage like insta kills or wins in online multiplayer games like Splatoon or Mario Kart of 2k games. Expect a ToS banned. Cosmetic mods to my knowledge haven't resulted in account restrictions.

Yes you can mod your Wii, 3DS, Switch and maybe even Switch 2 when that breakthrough happens. If you mod in online matches YOU will get banned. Welcome to 2010 logic.

Overall I'd still say the upgrade is good but yeah those handheld mode zoom ins look UGLY. Hopefully that gets patched out.

Hmm I wonder if Xenoblade X Sw2 was outsourced considering Monolithsoft hasn't updated their games listing to show the Switch 2 version of the game. Plus the whole weird artifact smoothing issue on handheld mode. It seems like a poor upscale from very low base resolution.
