I think my past traumas set me up to be the perfect target for him, so that's where length comes back in for me because it's already been a lifetime of trauma & abuse but this experience was horrible in every way & it took a long time to see & really understand what was happening to me bc of it

For me it was all of that but I length bc even though it was 2yrs, I've been in much longer situations that were far less insidious or all encompassing as you said. It took a long time to really see what was happening to me. Some of it was obvious but I was manipulated on a whole other level

For me, I think it's because I've already endured years of other abusive situations so this was too much to bear and it was abusive in every single possible way so there was just so much to process

Thank you for saying this. There are days it's a huge amount of peace and relief and there's days I'm a broken mess shell of a person just recovering from all the trauma I'm processing
