Companies House confirms that from Tuesday 18 November 2025, legal requirements for directors and people with significant control (PSCs) of companies to verify their identities will begin. From 18 November 2025: new directors will need to verify their identity to incorporate a company or be appointed to an existing company. existing directors will need to confirm they have verified their identity at the same time as they file their next annual confirmation statement, during a 12-month transition period.
Better late than never, but still amazing that someone opening an online gambling account faced more scrutiny than someone registering a UK company.

01.08.2025 11:42 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yeah idk really. Obvs very complex. But for a while at least holding shorter rates artificially low would surely help create a lot of rolling short term money for longer-term financing and a lot could go just great before it didn’t! Key would probs be international attitudes to longer $ debt?

I guess the policy failure is in not thinking forward about these changing dynamics in the round from about 30 years ago! Excellent thread btw!

29.07.2025 14:00 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Barclays stock valuation lags peers - and it has fallen behind Deutsche Bank this year. Currently Barclays trades at just under 8-times earnings forecast in 2 months time, marginally ahead of BNP Paribas, but behind Deutsche, HSBC and Lloyds, which are all on 9-times or greater.
Barclays traders make great gains, while dealmakers struggle to lift fees, but even the good news may still be more cyclical than durable, especially with hedge fund leverage at record levels >> www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...
