6 lives…so far. History lover (esp. American), science lover, attorney, mother, local activist, former actor-producer. So much to learn; so little time. New Orleans—a curse and a blessing.

Sorry—just discovered you don’t chat. Thanks for a good idea. Maybe the Nurses Union at LCMC would host…

Good idea. Let’s talk—although, if you’re in N.O., you’re probably busy with Mardi Gras. I’ll message you.

That’s the Epstein compound that was never investigated. What an outrage.

If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, gun reform, universal child care, and a living wage.

The right-wing agenda isn’t about “life.”

It’s about control.

Like what the Gulf Coast will be faced with when the oil business finally, inevitably, goes bust. Unusable skeletons and a ruined ecosystem. You think the oil companies (oligarchs) that created those monstrosities are going to pay for that clean-up?

2 really dangerous results of this massive overbuilding of massive data centers: (1) even if, as I suspect, AI turns out to be a bubble, corps will have to justify the social & econ. costs. Very hard to get rid of them. (2) We’ll be left with these huge scars. Far worse than malls.

I have come to the conclusion that “DHS” should be eliminated. It is ill-conceived, a bad idea bearing the fruit of the seeds it has always had.
It was a sop for US fears and need for security after 9-11.
It is unwieldy, ill-defined and grows like a weed. Cancer is a metaphor that comes to mind.

$400 million for a ballroom atrocity has a huge ROI.
I sure hope there’s a plaque on the wall for the hall of shame.

To put this in perspective, the federal government spends *a combined* $33 billion each year on Title I (for low income families) and IDEA (for special needs students).

I often say that if you often find you're the smartest person in the room, it's because nobody actually clever wants to be in the same room as you.

Thank you.

Tell Your Senators: Vote NO on Voter Suppression | Indivisible

Let’s be clear: The GOP’s new voter suppression legislation (modeled on the SAVE Act) is unlikely to pass the Senate.

But with this attack on our voting rights ahead of the midterms, we can’t take anything for granted.

The pace at which US wealth concentration is rising is simply staggering

The concentration of AI wealth into the hands of a few tech barons + plutocratic capture ==> unchartered territory

Pam Bondi’s Contempt for Congress The Attorney General treats oversight like roller derby.

“The bigger worry is what will be left to reclaim of the Justice Department once Bondi and Trump are done.” Corruption at MAGA DOJ is epidemic.

This is a huge glaring issue right now. Courts generally ARE doing fairly well, even including significant number of Trump appointees. The corruption is concentrated in scotus.

ICE raid at apartment complex causes elementary students to run from their bus stop in NJ Thursday Students were seen running away from their bus stop on Thursday morning as ICE agents conducted an operation at an apartment in Lindenwold, NJ.

Most people probably focus on the damage ICE has caused in Minnesota

But their violent, fascist tactics affect people all over the country

Here they are-terrorizing 4th and 5th graders at a bus stop in New Jersey

May Trump and Stephen Miller rot in hell
