My finished quilt top from following the Quilters Academy. It is wall hanging sized, the squares great strong diagonal lines - a small dark brown surrounded by a multicolored teal and green print (same fabric on the border), and a sharp lime green, all against a cream background. The fabrics were all from my stash, not purchased to go together, but it came out ok

Quilter’s Academy is a great series for improving your quilting skills! I did the project from the first book and learned a lot, even though I had been quilting for some years. One of the techniques was a way of joining blocks to minimize bumpy seams

A little while ago, my parents' cat Bridget went missing. As the weeks dragged on, they became extremely worried. My dad devised a way to distract himself: he began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up in some of art and music's most iconic scenes.
