First timing dining at Kong Pocha and definitely won’t be my last. If you’re a fan of Korean BBQ I highly recommend checking out.

Understood, moving forward I will try to do better in meeting the true definition. No hard feelings!

Are you being serious right now? We’re literally saying the same thing.

Yeah and my point is they’re essentially happening 100% now, multiple times per year. You’re splitting hairs.

Thank you. It’s important to keep in mind that despite the very real and horrific issues faced by humanity today, we have it far better than pretty much every generation prior. It’s our responsibility to adapt and weather this next storm. We can do it.

Baltimore City has a lot of work ahead, however the existence of our stormwater enterprise fund means we at least have a dedicated revenue stream to utilize each year to fund necessary capital projects.

Upgrading our existing infrastructure will be extremely expensive, but we really have no other choice. This will require an all hands on deck approach, involving governments, institutions and the private sector working together.

In the era of climate change we’re seeing these storms occurring multiple times a month now. This is our new norm and at this point there’s no going back. That window closed long ago.

US stormwater infrastructure is generally designed to handle 10 year storms, meaning larger storms that historically occurred maybe a handful of times each decade.

As usual, all smiles at this year’s Greek Festival. Love my city and love my neighborhood.

Through May, Baltimore has recorded 54 homicides, the fewest through the first 5 months of a year on record. The previous low: 65 homicides, in 1977.
At this point in 2022, just three years ago, there had been 138 killings, and in 2017 there had been 146 people killed.

We must not be complacent though - this is technically a temporary victory, with HUR allocations to Baltimore City falling off a cliff again after FY27.

I loved surprising people when we were able to make our government work. It is truly one of the best feelings to see people believe in their city again, chipping away at years of apathy. A truly rewarding experience.

I can’t wait to see these improvements build out over he next few years, whether it be roadway resurfacing, traffic calming, sidewalk repairs, signal upgrades, and transformational streetscape projects that will make our public corridors safer for all road users.

Accomplishing this would not have been possible without an amazing team of local and state partners. Big policy wins like this happen when folks are willing to push personal differences aside and work together on behalf of the public.

Looking back at my time in City Gov, my contributions towards the City’s efforts to reverse a more than decade long cut to the our annual HUR formula was probably what I am most proud of. It is not hyperbole to say the impact of this policy work will be felt for generations.

I don’t get all the Brandon Hyde hate.

He won manager of the year 2 years ago.
We’ve made the playoffs in consecutive years for the first time since 96/97.

And because his lineup isn’t exactly what some fans want each night he should be fired?

There’s a lot of folks that have contributed to Baltimore’s remarkable reduction in violent crime over the past few years. Our State’s Attorney Ivan Bates is undeniably one of those folks. I’m looking forward to supporting his re-election efforts in 2026.

The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

It’s not just embarrassing, it’s plain wrong. Official government business should not be happening on non-government channels.

Solid move from @bmorecitydot.bsky.social. The original buildout of the 83 speed camera program was designed to allow for camera rotations using 6 prepared locations. This likely would have occurred sooner had it not been for interference from Annapolis.

A pretty dire warning from the former Social Security Commissioner. Worth giving a heads up to loved ones & friends currently receiving social security benefits. 73 million Americans including 56 million senior citizens depend on monthly social security benefits. thehill.com/homenews/adm...

Baltimore loses grant for Greenway Trail after letting it sit for years Maryland recently took back a $1.5 million grant for a high-profile, multi-use trail after Baltimore officials failed to use the money for years.

The Baltimore Greenway is such low hanging fruit. We should be embarrassed this isn't already completed...

"The grant loss won’t doom the acquisition of the Norfolk Southern corridor, nor the completion of the trail network, but will add some time."

The Tigers (17-9, 12-1 CAA) win their 11th in a row, their longest winning streak since 1977-78. Nendah Tarke with 22 points, including a pair of big-time late 3s.

Blue Hens fall to 12-14 (5-8) while getting swept by Towson in their final CAA season.
