a 1 second slice of today at the Flying Horses Carousel — the oldest operating carousel in the United States. IMO the best part of it is the music from the 1923 Wurlitzer organ.

a few minutes ago i picked up a hitchhiker on Martha's Vineyard. he told me that there is a law here since the 1600s that you can walk on any private land as long as you're holding a fishing rod or a fowling piece (shotgun)

"i can walk through all these billionaire's lands if i have this rod"

"Oh, this is nice!" we exclaim, as we walk into a hotel room that is appointed exactly the same way as every other hotel room we've been in from the last 10 years

Here are three full-frame fixed-lens cameras. Likely all use a Sony sensor. The Sony camera probably has much better auto-focus. Similar high quality lenses and features.

if your elected official is reading the Declaration of Independence today, I beg of you to help them with mic technique

i think there's something to be said for using online spaces in a way that opts out of the idea (& the pressure) that they're a primary vector for Fixing The Terrible Things. The best version of us is not the one saturated by anxiety; I avoid following folks orbiting too close to that black hole.
