a few minutes ago i picked up a hitchhiker on Martha's Vineyard. he told me that there is a law here since the 1600s that you can walk on any private land as long as you're holding a fishing rod or a fowling piece (shotgun)
"i can walk through all these billionaire's lands if i have this rod"
"Oh, this is nice!" we exclaim, as we walk into a hotel room that is appointed exactly the same way as every other hotel room we've been in from the last 10 years

this hotel has a TV tuned to a Fine Art Auction show and i am obsessed
the sales pitches (a focus on anything hand made, uniqueness, stature, lots of mention of "the attention to detail")
what effects they want you to think the art will have on your life or space
the entire vibe
oh that's fun! I have only talked to her a little but she seemed a good person — I purchased a print of that photo for our green room
she donated a different print to a local theater assuming they'd display it at the theater ... & the AD just took it back to one of his (2) homes...
not feeling even mildly optimistic about my country these days. heck, not feeling particularly optimistic about my entire species
anyway, keeping on keeping on, as one must

happy summer 😬

Guess which one people are flipping out about the price? Psychology is weird!
but did they honk a lot while doing it to announce their intention to run the red light? because my understanding from Baltimore drivers is that this makes it okay
