Thylacocephalans are some of the strangest arthropods period. They look like they come straight from the paleozoic, despite surviving until the Cretaceous. Here is Protozoea, from the Sahel Alma, of Cretaceous Lebanon. we have 2 species here, so the deep sea may have been a refugium for this group.
