DSM diagnoses have criteria A through whatever, maybe A-F, A-G, etc. It is commonplace for clinicians to completely discard criteria B - whatever, as if A is sufficient. It is deeply troubling. It is unethical. It is absolutely nothing short of malpractice.

… At our best we are liberators in tactical formation, holding ground against the colonizers, but we are always promoting our ethos, one way of being in the world among others, & we are saying ours is better than many others” Blum, Goldberg, Levin.

A good therapist won’t tell you how, they’ll help you understand what stops you from and interferes with you doing it. They’ll help you work through those things in an experiential way through your current relationships.

Yeah that’s a really rough one. Melton fit in perfectly next to Steph, and with a possible front court of Horford, Dray, and Butler, we’ve got a great starting 5. But Melton’s injury history puts a giant question mark on that.

Please stop using their definition of DEI. It does not mean an unqualified hire, despite how much they try and enforce that idea. Their hired are unqualified, incompetent, and grotesquely hateful and cruel. Let’s call them that.

β€œSanctified boogie.” I like that phrase. Imma steal that for a song title. (If I wrote music).

I’ve given this album a listen, but it’s really fun to return for another after reading one of your pieces. It widens my ears.

They are not β€œmentally ill,” in the sense that they have something like a mood or psychotic disorder (although they may). They are deeply characterologically disturbed with prominent hatred, fear, anger, greed, and perversion of power.

… the individual transferences. We have something like an instinctive need to [be] interpellated; being dissociated is to be dis-sociated from the socii, the tribe, that is uniquely capable of meeting this need.” Blum, Goldberg, Levin.

β€œAs one of many practices of inductive enchantment, the actual work of ΨΑ lies not in its discursive, rational, and object-related dimensions alone but depends upon the effectiveness with which it weaves the individual into the collective, depends, in other words, on work that takes place beyond

The last lines of BB’s album.

β€œNobody takes me out of here. I will not move from here. Tell them that this is my home, where my grandfather was born.

I am from Puerto fucking Rico.”

β€œWhat ΨΑ has always implicitly acknowledged … is that the impoverishment of rhythmic experience, which erodes the possibility of temporal continuity, has become the most common cause of psychical difficulties. The illness of nontime is the illness of our time” - Blum, Goldberg, & Levin

We think of school as about knowing, but it is about learning how to learn. It is ontological more than epistemological. We come to know in the process of learning to learn, but we end up not knowing more then we know. PhDs then, don’t β€œknow everything,” so much as they expertly know how to learn.
