Some interesting tidbits from WI Am Fisheries Society chapter meeting.
New technology, like expensive forward-facing sonar, don't necessarily increase catch rates and might decrease angler satisfaction due to unmet expectations.

A wetland landscape
A yellow perch
A small esox species
A juvenile centrachid species
There are about 532,938 acres of #GreatLakes coastal wetlands - some 833 square miles - that provide habitat for nearly 80 species of fish species at some point during their life cycle. Yellow perch, pike, and bass all often start out their lives in these nurseries! #WorldWetlandsDay

At issue in Great Lakes beach access: constitution vs. court rulings
If the case reaches the state Supreme Court, it would no longer be about Shorewood, but about Wisconsin shorelines along lakes Michigan and Superior.
Paul Florsheim was found guilty of trespassing by Shorewood Municipal Court which cited a 1923 ruling requiring the public to keep their feet wet on the shore.
The Center comments on the rights co-existing on the disputed beach area & the need for clarity by a higher-level court.

I guess MDPI vs. pre-print server probably, 6-7? Either way are probably about the same. I published one of my weakest thesis chapters there, but I can't say it has resulted in any kind of research existence for the work. I probably wouldn't publish there.

Ontario is deep and has an west to east orientation, so wind can help keep it open. Also a fair degree of water movement toward the St Lawrence River.

Erie is the shallowest lake, so it cools down faster. It will freeze up. The Huron main basin is smaller than Michigan and not as deep, so it will also cool down faster and freeze. Superior will generally freeze more than Michigan and Ontario because it is so cold.
