So, to summarize, the president‘s speech was:

1.) fuck you, we’re doing tariffs anyway
2.) by the way, I’m gay

The best move for Trump would be to write checks to America for the tariff refund but then he has to admit we paid them

Once you're into the hobby start going to ham swaps or find people selling old gear and get yourself a used radio, you can manually program them (easier). And they can hear much further.

They are inexpensive starter radios, they got me back into radio in 2020. The input is not filtered well and gets overloaded easily / just doesn't have the sensitivity. They work well for local repeaters. I have a pair of new 5RMini's that I like for their 999 memories.

I am so glad that my first HT 30 years ago still has better RX than a Baofeng. I feel like they are such an underwhelming first experience. They are OK if all you're doing is getting on repeaters.

Nice! I almost want to get a second space setup in my garage also as it is much cooler in there during the summer.

And your totally right, I am seeing more and more klanker garbage on here and other places. I really like ai (sometimes), but that stuff really gives it a bad name.

I thought about this deeper after I scrolled away (seeing content). Usually only Gemini and the content I have done research on myself. Agreed, no garbage blogs and such.

I would agree a lot of the content and images are bad, but me and my ham friends are coding lots of projects using AI. My simplex net logging/mapping site is huge hit.

At the dog park today there were a pair of ducks in Lulu's favorite swimming spot. She didn't quite know if she should swim or chase them for a while 🤔😂

Heltec tracker running CA2RXU firmware showing it's/my GPS location

Here is the 433-500 mhz Heltec tracker rinning meshtastic FW to get a GPS lock, showing 22 sats tracked.

Baofeng BF-82 with AOIC next to my heltec tracker in a 3d printed case my friend printed.

Morning two of my APRS upgrades I got the new FW to beacon by cold booting the GPS via meshtastic FW. Now if I could only get it's i-gate to hear if. The 2m side is sending our packets via my baofeng+AIOC. I might have soldered it wrong so we will see about TX / fixing it.
