Akira’s Palace -Amusement Park ruins with several attractions, both operational and beyond repair -Keywords: Kurusu Akira, Tokyo, Amusement Park -Cognitions are human, but they’re self-absorbed and/or don’t acknowledge that they’re in ruins -Even in all the ruin and debris, there’s still celebration throughout the palace in falling confetti and parades -His treasure is his train ticket home from when he left Tokyo. It takes the form of a giant plush toy grand prize from a carnival game or if enough tickets are traded. -Because his palace is so massive, it’s almost necessary to have Monabus or some other form of transportation -Rather than safe rooms, there are safe houses. Each area has a designated safehouse (Yongen: Leblanc, Kichijoji: Jazz Jin, Shinjuku: Crossroads, etc.) -Notable attractions: Maze of Mirrors, Horror House, Closed off/boarded up Tunnel of Love, a dilapidated ferris wheel, carnival games area, and a god’s puppet theater Shadow Joker -His shadow is a jester, playing on his Fool arcana, code name, and his perceived role as the public’s entertainment (and source of his friends’ happiness or well-being) -He has a full face mask that shifts through expressions based on the Thieves Den loading screen. Underneath, his face is obscured in shadow. What can be seen is hollowed out Extra -Tokyo used to be a place that was filled with endless entertainment and possibilities; his first year as a Phantom Thief was the most alive he’d ever felt, and part of him always saw it as a thrill despite the danger and pain -Akira does not enter his own palace -Goro is alive and discovers the PT accessing the Metaverse, and he does his own investigation/infiltration. Akira’s shadow assumes he’s a ghost, but cognitive!Goro is an animatronic bound to the boarded up Tunnel of Love -The PT have to face what they’ve unintentionally done to Akira through their reflections in the Maze of Mirrors, confronting what it means to see Akira as a “mirror of sorts.”
