A Halloween parade float with the gates of Auschwitz

Evidently there was an Auschwitz-themed float in a Halloween parade in Pennsylvania.

The float was for a Catholic school, and to their credit the church immediately disavowed it.

Thing is, I don’t think high school kids did this entirely on their own. I’m guessing parents had to be involved.

Apologies/promises "to ensure this incident becomes an opportunity for education & reflection" are not enough. Identify the adults directly responsible for this & remove them from their offices/jobs. There have to be concrete consequences not vague demurrals.

An event recently happened in Pennsylvania where someone used a death camp gate replica in a parade, infamous slogan and everything, so thinking about this a lot.

We need to be extremely vigilant not to forget the inhumanity and horror of those atrocities.
