The economic links between Canada and the EU are an essential pillar of our strategic relationship. The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement is a success, allowing us to grow our economies, and build resilient supply chains.

I look forward to an EU-Canada Summit, an opportunity for deepening our cooperation on topics such as global trade, security and defence, and humanitarian aid.

One illustration of just how extreme the numbers were this quarter, it was the second largest increase in real imports as a share of GDP ever recorded (2020-Q3 was larger).

Inventory increase was on the high side but not remotely commensurately high.
