Thats the thing. I think the whole idea that we live in a meritocracy is blown apart by the fact that many of the most powerful people are complete morons who have very little wits about them lol.

IMO the career attracts power-hungry pricks who would love nothing more than to use thier position of authority to abuse the general public, but especially women and minorities. Its hardly surprising that a large portion of cops are domestic abusers and violent misogynists.

A woman gave a cop a thumbs down (wow, so rude 🙄) so he followed her home, assaulted her, tore her clothing, and tried to force his way into her home. It seems he used his authority as a cop as a bad faith pretence for why he was retaliating to her gesture

IMO I agree with others that have a very pessimistic doomer view. The ruling elite are now part of a suicide cult- they know full well that we are on a path of destruction (climate change, nuclear war etc) and they are doing nothing to reverse course, merely trying to get thier bag before it ends.
