The Salvation Army is not a charity. They are an evangelical church that uses donated money to actively oppress gay rights. They've been especially cruel to trans people.

It's that giving time of year again, so this is a reminder that no matter how they try to dress it up, the Salvation Army is not a charity.

The American Academy of Pediatric and the AMA released a are refuting a new HHS report that promotes false information about health care for transgender kids, noting that many, many studies have found gender-affirming care to be safe and helpful for appropriate patients.

Hey. Fat people also deserve food. Fat people using snap benefits deserve to eat guiltfree. Going without will not make them instantly skinny, and in some cases, like those with diabetes, not eating on a set schedule can exacerbate health problems. Being fat does not equal laziness or weak morality.

Safety Alert The FDA is advising consumers to throw away and not to buy the ground cinnamon products because samples of products listed in the table were found to contain elevated levels of lead.

The FDA added another brand to its list of ground cinnamon with unsafe lead levels today. You'll find it (DEVI) and the other 16 brands so far identified in the alert below. Do note that none of these are from spice companies like McCormick or Penzeys (which actually test pretty well).

There's a reason I fill my local little free pantries with both staples (beans, rice, canned veg) & treats (baking ingredients, tea, coffee, candy), and it's bc I know what it's like. Give candy AND offer nonperishables if you like, but don't skip the candy. They need that sense of normalcy.

Y'all, as a kid who grew up food-insecure, plz don't do this. There is nothing more demoralizing as a little kid than being reminded of your family's poverty. We looked forward to Halloween bc it was the 1 chance to be like every other kid and get access to treats the food banks never gave out.
