It still sucks to deal with. It still hurts, it still requires careful word choice and walking on eggshells. But at least you have an understanding of "why" they are acting the way they are.

Having dealt with someone with severe BPD can be an unfortunate insight into others behavior. You recognize the signs more, see the same patterns, the same words being used. I'm partially thankful that now I can tell when someone exhibits BPD.
