SHE’S FINISHED! My 5-foot-long Enterprise D oil painting is complete after nearly 100 hours of work!

I remember being 13 years old or so and trying to draw her and it was so hard, and all I wanted was to be able to do something like this. Truly a dream come true. 🥰🖖

I picked up storm chasing as a hobby. Turns out seeing tornadoes is extremely therapeutic.

I used to be overweight. In fact, I still am overweight. So I lost a lot of weight. But it’s not enough, because it’s never fucking enough. It’s never possible to be fucking enough. Here’s what I looked like before I lost weight 2/🧵

Is it too much to ask to just … not be shitty? We have so many shitty people, it takes so little effort to be ok. Why waste your time being an absolute asshat?

Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. Hands down. Great fuel economy. Sleek but classic design.

I am quite literally an idiot who has been ranking storm chaser cars based on how sexy I think they are. I am first and foremost a photographer.

Not a severe weather expert. You need help with a camera, ask me. If you want help vetting sources of information, ask Jeff.

Many in the audience tonight were storm chasers without a formal education in meteorology, and some are in high school. I applaud your zest for meteorology and literally chasing your passion, but what you heard tonight is antithetical to the current science of weather prediction.

Storm chaser vehicle review. This basic utility truck is unremarkable, but elevated by the intrigue and appeal of the scientific instruments it carries. The mesmerizing motion of the spinning radar enhances the appeal. The amount of visible rust is a strike against it, however. 7/10

I think that may just be the incline of the parking lot, this was on the side of a hill. That said, I will ask the driver about this tomorrow.

Storm chaser vehicle review. The colorful, high visibility, custom wrap and the tasteful skid plate signal or commitment to public safety. While an anemometer is questionably useful on a moving vehicle, this look is stylish without being gaudy. 8/10

Storm chaser vehicle review. A retired police vehicle, but they’ve installed obnoxious yellow LED panels, making sure that you easily mistake it for active police vehicles. Pull over buddy, I have a tornado to chase. 2/10

Storm intercept vehicle review. Stylish, compact and visually appealing. My favorite Storm chaser car I’ve seen at the convention yet. The color gets attention, fiat 500 also gets great fuel economy. The lack of consistent branding and busy stickers bring it down a bit, though. 9/10

Attending the storm chaser summit. I’m going to be rating storm intercept vehicles on aesthetics only.

This is a great first entry, a classic American truck, but I’d like the look better without the covered bed. The tornado logo grille ornament could use some white paint to make it stand out. 7/10

Imagine if a third of the US economy was being propped up by a paradigm that XKCD took to the cleaners TWENTY YEARS AGO.

xkcd.com/327/

Infosec has been segregating execution and data for decades, and genAI just looked at all that progress like Garfield looking at a "No Garfields" sign.

Which is ass, by the way. I really wish I had gotten 2014 instead of 2013. Maya users know to skip odd-numbered years.

I have a copy of Adobe CS3 on a DVD, Maya 2013 on a DVD and a copy of VRay that activates with a license dongle. I purchased these and I own them forever. Until the compatibility falters or the physical media breaks down, you will have to pry them out of my cold dead hands.

National Storm Chaser Summit — About NSCS Only once a year do the world’s top storm chasers, researchers, meteorologists, filmmakers, content creators, influencers, and weather enthusiasts come together.

I’m making the long journey all the way from remote Aurora, Colorado to Denver, Colorado this Thursday to attend the Storm Chaser Summit.

If you’re in Denver for the summit and want to save some money on ride-sharing, drop me a line, I’m happy to carpool.
