It was a treat was to have my husband Jim and our teenager Victor join me at the event. This campaign is about the future — and for me, that starts with family. Jim and Victor have been my steady support through every step of this journey.

As part of my campaign travels this weekend, I joined the Kiwanis Salmon Bake in Federal Way — a wonderful event, with great food, awesome music, and a true sense of community. Thank you, Councilmember von Reichbauer, for the invitation!

The cuts in Trump’s “Big Ugly Bill,” including to Medicaid, will be devastating across the country and here at home. Today I was glad to stand with SEIU, Indivisible, and so many champions for our communities to fight for families first!

A big highlight: I got to meet Oklahoma, the friendly and curious sheep who was crowned King Critter, and Miss Agriculture North America, who proudly hails from Hobart right here in King County!

Had a great time at the King County Fair in Enumclaw celebrating our region’s rich agricultural heritage — past, present, and future. Agriculture touches all of our lives, from what we eat to how we build resilient, sustainable communities.

Ballots have been out for a week, and Claudia’s been everywhere — from Des Moines, to Bothell, to the Seattle Chinatown-International District — meeting voters, answering questions, and talking about how we can make King County work better for everyone.

Big news: @theurbanist.org has endorsed our campaign for King County Executive!

This endorsement is deeply meaningful to me, because it comes from people who care as much as I do about how we build a more affordable, sustainable, and inclusive future.

Move Redmond made our first ever endorsement of a candidate for @claudiaforkcexec.bsky.social because she is a transit champion for the Eastside!

This isn’t about starting from scratch — it’s about deepening relationships that are already delivering results. And it’s how I’ll lead as your next Executive: by bringing people together to get things done.

From expanding light rail to building affordable housing and strengthening local services — we’ve made the most progress together. These mayors and I have stood side-by-side in that work, in moments of success and in the hard, day-to-day efforts to make government more responsive and effective.

These leaders aren’t just endorsing me — they’re affirming the power of partnership. In a region as diverse and dynamic as King County, collaboration between local governments is essential. The challenges we face don’t stop at city borders, and neither should our solutions.

I’m proud to share some big news: 10 South King County mayors (and one new East King County mayor) just endorsed my campaign for King County Executive — bringing my total to 18 mayoral endorsements, the most of any candidate in this race. I’m honored that they’ve put their trust in me.

Exciting news: The Seattle Times has endorsed my campaign for King County Executive! In a time of budget shortfalls, growing needs, and mounting pressure from state and federal cuts, their editorial board made it clear: experience and proven leadership matter. And that’s what I bring to the table.

As your next King County Executive, I’ll be ready to meet this moment — to govern effectively, defend our shared values, and make sure King County is a place where democracy works for all of us.

I’ve never stopped doing the work, whether it’s delivering more affordable housing, improving public transit, or protecting our most vulnerable neighbors.

Last month, I joined with Seattle City Councilmember Alexis Mercedes Rinck to lead a joint session with the same mutual goal — because at this moment, local governments need to work together in lockstep to prepare, respond, and fight back.

In January, I called on the Executive to assess where we’re vulnerable and start preparing. Through the Council’s Committee of the Whole, I’ve held regular briefings with experts in government and community.

With Donald Trump and Congress undermining basic government services, along with our freedoms and values, we need local government to do everything possible to defend our rights and protect our people. As a King County Councilmember, I’ve been doing this work.

WA is the No. 1 target in the GOP’s health care slashing bill WA tried as hard as any state to round up health coverage for all. But now that Republicans are gutting health care, it turns out WA has the farthest to fall.

The impacts of this vote in the other Washington will hit home. As the Seattle Times reported cuts to Medicaid will hit Washington harder than any state. Nearly half a million Washingtonians could lose Apple Health coverage, and we’d lose $36 billion in federal funding over the next decade.
