A second win for CalAccount! Too many Californians are unbanked or hit with fees just to access their own money. Today’s Assembly Labor Committee vote brings us closer to making #CalAccount real—a no-fee, no-penalty public banking option that levels the playing field.

CalAccount, a public option for basic financial transactions accounts, cleared our first committee yesterday!

While the Trump-Musk regime are dissembling federal financial regulators and rolling back CFPB rules, we can make our financial infrastructure more resilient in California.

Big win today! AB 1365 passed the Assembly Banking Committee, bringing us closer to #CalAccount, a no-cost, penalty-free bank account for all Californians. With 1 in 6 households unbanked or underbanked, this is a major step toward financial justice.

Today Sandra testified that CalAccount will provide Californians like her with access to a no-cost, penalty-free bank account.
