Noopiming: The Cure for White Ladies by Leanne Betasamosake Simpson Within the pages of Noopiming we meet a diverse array of characters of the First Nations; people, animals, spirits, all trying to live their honest lives in a world that in some ways, thanks to the white man, is no longer theirs. These characters are presented in series of snippets, anything from just over a page long to a simple sentence.

BOOK REVIEW: A poetic and beautifully written window into our own world as seen through the eyes of the First Nations. Essential reading.

Dreaming of Dead People by Rosalind Belben First published in 1979, Dreaming of Dead People has been given a new lease of life by And Other Stories and we can but hope that this allows a new generation to discover this astonishing, extraordinary novel. It's not so easy to succinctly describe what the book is about. The opening chapter describes a woman's solo visit to Venice, where she by chance falls in with a family with young children, leading her to reflect on how her life has turned out how she imagined it would.

BOOK REVIEW: One of the most astonishing and extraordinary books I've read, Rosalind Belben's magnificent 1979 novel Dreaming of Dead People.

Hi Bluesky - I'm Massachusetts' Attorney General. You might know me from suing President Trump nearly 50 times, beating Uber and Lyft in court, or being the first woman of color elected to statewide office in MA.

I officially left X today - help me find my MA people?

John Boorman's Hope and Glory, which having rewatched recently, seems almost unbelievable. The same RE teacher was obsessed with showing us episodes of Shelley.

The planet Uranus appears as a smooth, bright cyan disc at the center, its atmosphere reveals soft, hazy tones of blue. Surrounding the planet is a vivid reddish glow, forming a diffuse halo that contrasts strongly with the cool blue of the planetary disc. Encircling Uranus are several thin, concentric rings, visible as pale grey arcs. Subtle variations in brightness can be seen across the planet\u2019s face, with slightly brighter patches near the limb, hinting at atmospheric structure.

Body And Soul by Andrew Hook The people of Heart live in isolated, rural communities, dragging a living for themselves out of the soil, but their lives are peaceful, simple and happy. Few of them ever leave their settlements, but those that do cannot return. Forced to spend the rest of their days travelling, they seek out the comfort of other settlements, exchanging stories for food and a single night's comfort before moving on.

BOOK REVIEW: Astonishing and thoroughly engaging science fiction story in the After-the-Collapse vein, elevated above the field by the sheer quality of prose and its emotional truth. Highly recommended.

Of Monsters And Men at Camden Roundhouse tonight - awesome show.

And kudos to the woman sat next to us who spilled a whole pint of Guinness on the floor then made a heroic attempt to mop it all up with a single tissue.

I listen to a fair amount of Radio 3, which means I hear the name of classical pianist Angela Hewitt dropped fairly regularly. Always catches my attention because I went to school with an Angela Hewitt. I don't think it's her though.

Also, in the women's at least, the snowboarding trick events seem dominated by China, Japan and Korea, whereas the Freeski appears to be mainly North America and European - just happenstance, or some cultural reason?

Couple of #WinterOlympics questions. Watching the Women's Freeski Big Air, and they have three runs, with their best two added for their final score. Whereas the snowboarding, it's just the best of their three runs that scores, I believe. Any reason for the difference?

The solidarity between these competitors is just beautiful. Chloe Kim doesn't land her third run and just instantly goes to congratulate Choi Gaon on her gold, with genuine joy. Love this.

Gray Area Gallery, Norwich I was recently sent a proof copy of The Sea, The Sea, a forthcoming collection from Waterland Books of writing about the Norfolk and Suffolk coast (which includes an excerpt of my debut Playtime's Over). Excitingly, the cover utilises artwork by Great Yarmouth artist Claire Cansick. I've followed Claire on Social Media for some time, and dig her work, so am excited to be in a book that also features her artwork.

Local exhibition that's well worth your time.
