With this difficult to set up scene... I'll say I'm enough ahead of schedule to take the weekend off.

Lighting this'll be a nightmare come Monday though due to the ground shadows and my seperation of background and foreground elemets/styles.

It's a great feeling when something goes so catastrophically wrong with a mediocre render that I thought was "Good enough", that I redo it from scratch and make it actually good.

This would also happen when limits were on but I had male figures in the scene... I'll have to experiment to see if I can recreate the "fix".

There's a bug in #poser where with some figures, if you apply a pose, hands or face it could cause genitals to basically explode. When this would happen I'd chalk it up to bad luck and manually pose what I needed.

I may have just discovered simply switching camera then back may fix it.

This has been a pretty intense dev week. I haven't spent this much time on writing and coding for a single script in the last 2 years. I think I need to force myself to take the weekend off.

As I get closer to finishing this game the temptation to overwork gets stronger.

One pitfall of making branching narrative games is that as the author you tend to fall in love with one or more branches which makes them become more canonical in your head, to the point that imagining players choosing the others can become frustrating.

Game publisher execs are about two more fads away from putting all their faith in literal magic beans.

They went all-in on services, all-in on NFTs, all-in on AI. Every time they’re convinced they’ve invested in a divine cure-all.

They believe in magic the way a child might. Except kids learn.

One of the biggest downsides to an overly complicated branching system in my Visual Novel (As a one man show) is that I have to add some contingency branches for combinations of variables that I am not sure are even possible.

I was just saved by the one time I actually saved a Poser Camera under a unique name instead of "temp".

Into the Nightmare on the other hand is fucking great. MC is an unabashed lesbian, Art style is original and cool. Good story, Well integrated H scenes, and fairly polished so far.

A breezy tokusatsu show meets tentacle hentai that understand the appeal of both genres.

I started a couple of H games. 7 girls war seems VERY mid. It's interesting but the way H scenes have occurred so far are hella disjointed giving drastic tonal whiplash, and in general there is a real lack of direction guidance in the gameplay. Kinda irritating.

I wish I hadn't bothered tracking hunger, thirst and fatigue in my visual novel or at least not shown the stats to the player. With rare exception those aspects could have easily been dealt with strictly within the narrative and saved me a lot of headaches/time.
