I'm enjoying these short descriptions in the NYT 100 notable books list:
21.11.2023 17:26 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0First thing I've written in a little while: I had the pleasure of reviewing Teju Cole's brilliant new novel, his best yet imo, for On the Seawall. Please check it out! www.ronslate.com/on-tremor-a-...

04.10.2023 17:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I read the Fitzgerald Iliad and the Fagles Odyssey back in college. I loved it--it was my first semester of being an English major. But the side-by-side with the new translation was the push I needed to pick up the Wilson
26.09.2023 13:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So excited for this. Great review. The comparisons between Wilsonβs translation and fitzgerald/fagles are super helpful
25.09.2023 21:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0my 5yo trying her hand at "would you rather" with predictably terrifying results:
"would you rather be eaten by a lion or a tiger?"
I loved this piece. Another thing I miss from the DVD queue days is the built-in time lag. Either you watch whatever weird movie showed up in your mailbox or you wait a week to get something new. I rarely bailed on movies back then

This is good but also I kind of feel bad for the poor chatbot that was forced to read all of franzenβs βFreedomβ

13.09.2023 20:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The game's restrained sound design was such a big part of this same feeling for me too. The game is so quiet. A lot of the time it's just the sound of Link's footfalls
