Day 24: What can top off this wonderful collection of icy treats? A sundae! I've been looking forward to this one all month!

Once again, I'd like to give a heartfelt thanks to Holmespun for the various ice cream they've made throughout the year, and for this advent calendar. Here's to a happy 2026!

Day 23: Ferro Roche. For the penultimate day, we have another one of my faves for the season. Very rich because of the chocolate base and the chopped up Ferro Roche bits mixed in, but I love it none the less.

So, if it sounds interesting, please give it a try! I know she would be happy to see it played by others.

I think that the way Kaiterra has adapted the story and mechanics of Blue Archive to cardboard has been really interesting! There's a lot of neat mechanics and interactions available within the set. A lot of thought has gone into it as a theoretical "Standard" legal set, as well.

A very good friend of mine, @kaiterra.bsky.social, has been spending a lot of the past year working on making a fully draftable custom set for Magic the Gathering, based on Blue Archive. She now feels like it's ready for release, and you can see and download it here: hanakoharu.com

Day 22: Vanilla chai ice cream sandwich, using snickerdoodle cookies. It's a really good mix! Slight bitterness from the chai mixed with the sweetness of the ice cream and the cookies. And I also just really love snickerdoodles, so that's a bonus.

Day 21: Toblerone. Chocolate base with Toblerone bits mixed in. Very good! One of my favourite flavours of the season.

Day 20: Toffifee. For those in the US, you may know this as Toffifay. A vanilla base with the caramel and nougat candy mixed in. You can pretty much use my same thoughts from the Turtles cup here.

Day 19: Rice Krispy Sandwich. A wonderful holiday treat. Any holiday, really. There's a version of this that Holmespun also sells regularly that is made using Fruity Pebbles instead, and I kinda like that version more.

Day 18: Nerds. Grape based ice cream with Nerds candy blended in. I think it's really nice, but this cup had too few Nerds mixed in. The sourness works pretty well with the grape flavour.

Day 17: Strawberry Shortcake. Strawberry and vanilla ice cream layers sandwiched between crumbled cake bits. Really good! Just, a weird one to wait for the right time for since you do want the center to be softer, but if you wait too long then the crumble will... Crumble.

Day 16: Chocolate, the other classic. Sometimes chocolate can be a heavy or rich flavour, but I think Holmespun manages a happy medium. Makes it work very well with their chocolate-base blends~

Day 15: Peanut Butter Square. This is such a great ice cream! Mild peanut butter base with butterscotch chips and marshmallows. And then this one is sandwiched between stroopwafels. Love it!

Day 14: Eggnog. A holiday favourite. Though I tend to be off and on about it because I don't like my drinks to be rich. I want my drinks to be somewhat light so I can recover from the rich food!

This works pretty well, though. The cream is wonderful, and it's not as spiced as the drink usually is.

Day 13: Banana cream pie. You might not think this would translate well to an ice cream flavour. You'd be wrong. It's a mild banana ice cream with graham bits mixed in. The creaminess of the ice cream keeps the banana from being overpowering.

Also, a bonus Luma.

Day 12: A little late to be posting this, but better late than not at all. Today's treat was a take on a Nanaimo bar! I usually find Nanaimo bars to be too rich, but this one was a perfect snack to end my day with. Not too sweet or anything!

Day 11: Bubblegum. A perennial kids favourite, I don't think I'm a big fan of this one anymore. Also it has small chunks of *something* that is giving it kind of a bitter aftertaste. Probably supposed to be gum chunks or something?

The ice cream itself, though, is great.

Day 10: Gingerbread man sandwich with vanilla ice cream. A very simple and pleasant dessert to finish off my supper with.

Day 9: Turtles turtles ra ra ra. Turtles turtles ha ha ha. I~ love~ Turtles~

I can't have them normally anymore because caramel does bad things to me, but in ice cream? Gimme!

Reminds me that I have a full litre of this in the freezer...

Day 8: Christmas sugar cookie dough. In a small cup like this, this is a perfect serving. I had a litre of it over the weekend, and it was actually kind of *too* sugary.

It's basically a cookie dough ice cream, with Christmas sprinkles and baking sugar sprinkled in. Good, but very sweet!

Day 7: The OG, vanilla. You can't go wrong with a smooth and creamy vanilla ice cream!

Day 6: Peppermint. This is the one cup that I know I'm not going to like in the set. I've never really enjoyed the taste and feel of mint. This one at least is mellowed out enough by the ice cream, though.

But that's just on me. I'm sure that people who don't react like I do to mint would love it.

Day 5: Strawberry. A subtle sweetness that works very well in a mix. It's pretty good alone, but I think it's better in a milkshake or blend.

Day 4: Hot chocolate with marshmallow. One of my favourite favours from Holmespun! It's very rich, though, so I shouldn't have too much of it at a time.

Day 3: The eternal classic, Cookies and Cream!

One of my favourite flavours, especially from Holmespun. They have such a wonderful creaminess to their ice cream, which works with the crunched up Oreos beautifully.

They also have hot chocolate bombs, ice cream sandwiches done with both cookies and rice krispy squares (or similar), floats and hot chocolates, and sundaes. Lots of options for an ice cream fix, no matter the season!
