I just wrapped up my first 20km. It was rather wet and windy, but the skies cleared as the sun rose. My first stop Annen in Drenthe. Home to some 3600 people, it boasts the largest grass brink, or village square in Europe (and there's also dolmen inside the village)!

27.01.2025 07:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This morning I began the project for the city, which I mentioned before. I'm biking 40km per day, amounting to 560km in total. That would take me to Berlin if done in one go. I'm not doing that, but I could do it virtually!

There are clear security camera images of the robbery, in which the thieves used explosives to force open the museum entrance, and a burnt-out car was found not far from Assen, which is possibly linked to the robbery.
Hopefully these are enough to find the perpetrators and return to items intact.

The Helmet of CoΘofeneΘti is a golden helmet from the 5th century BC, found in 1929 in Romania. It probably belonged to a Dacian king or noble. On loan from the National History Museum of Romania to the Drents Museum in Assen, the Netherlands, ...

Last night I was watching Predators from 2010 - just some mindless action flick. There's a scene in which Adrien Brody's character is leading the other characters through the jungle, using a machete. But @dannytrejo.bsky.social's RIGHT THERE IN THAT GROUP.
Talk about a missed opportunity...

On the 27th I'm starting with the municipilaty project again, where I'm checking garbage containers and whatever people illegally place beside it. Like last autumn, it's a two-week project of two daily bike routes (early morning and evening) of 20 kilometers, to create a picture ...
