Study: On Twitter, false news travels faster than true stories A new study by three MIT scholars has found that false news spreads more rapidly on the social network Twitter than real news does - and by a substantial margin.

It says in the study how people were selected and studied. They did scans of their brains, so unless you participated in the study in-person and had your brain scanned, then you are not a part of the study. It was done with control groups for accuracy.
