congrats!!! Sooo excited to hear what you did with this. I imagine your experience was similar to ours on Batman, e.g. when you really get down and study the comic frames, there's an astonishing level of detail that passes you by at first glance. Bringing that richness to life is half the fun.

Because the internet needs to know this, shortly after TREMORS came out my older brother hid behind a large rock (just his chest visible) and screamed that a tremor got him. Apparently I ran back to the house and would not leave my room for quite some time.

truly, I'm grateful that you're finding ways to keep furthering your craft and that team Audible believed in the vision - embracing some of the audio-specific and (can I say?) daring approaches to how you manage the narrative, e.g. the POV shifts, use of music. You do the medium a great service

I carry a portable electric water kettle, travel pourover and favorite grounds with me everywhere for this very reason. And for the great smile it brings in airport terminals when I can DIY a perfect pourover when the Starbucks line wraps around the block

Was at an event last night (grand opening for new VO studio honoring the late great William Dufris) and my 9yo learned that the person in the middle of this photo is @stephenking.bsky.social - previously she only knew him as "Man with a monster growing out of his chest" - which, frankly, fits

You're not alone! Is it (broadly gestures) a lot, but you are not alone. If anything, what's going on is a clarion call for us to center our human relationships more in the foreground of our lives. And commercial success is never a reflection on the value of creating a piece of art.

pro tip, just mass filter emails by time into a folder called "I am DEFINITELY going to read these later" and then you can proceed to continue ignoring them AND achieve inbox zero 😅
